To get seamless results with halftone brushes in Procreate, you need to adjust the Grain Scale in Brush Studio—this controls the size of the dots or lines your brush makes. (The regular brush size slider only changes the overall size of the brush shape, not the halftone pattern itself.) With other halftone brush sets, you have to manually tweak the Grain Scale setting every time you switch brushes or change canvas sizes in order to keep a consistent pattern. That means jumping into Brush Studio, remembering numbers, and guessing your last setting—every single time. My halftone brushes solve that. I’ve created every brush in Small, Medium, Large, and XL versions (each in their own separate set), so you can instantly switch between different grain sizes without ever touching Brush Studio. Just pick the set that fits your canvas size and go. Want to mix grain sizes across your piece? Easy. Prefer to stick with one for a consistent look? Done. It’s a massive time-saver—and one of the most useful features of this set.

MATCHING SHADER VERSIONS OF EVERY HALFTONE BRUSH!

Of course you can shade manually by laying down your base shadows with a low density halftone brush and then stair-stepping up to brushes with higher density settings to build up your shadows.

OR… you can use the included shader brushes to gradually add shadows by building up opacity around your base work! This approach insures your lines and dots retain the same smoothness as their non-shader versions (other halftone sets out there handle this differently, ending in uneven and jagged results.) All of the included shader brushes come in S, M, L, and XL sized sets as well…so no need to change their grain scale either!

Give your art that perfect vintage feel with my killer retro canvases! No AI junk here- these canvases were painstakingly produced by hand…made by manually scanning real world paper textures at 600DPI!  I then created all of the spills, stains, scuffs, and damage that a well-worn piece of art should have…using inks, paints, water, and other materials (once again- scanned in high resolution!) The included custom layered canvases also allow you to customize every detail; dedicated layers for highlights, shadows, and damage let you fine-tune the texture and dial in just the right amount of distress!

The Five Retro Texture Canvases Come in Four Different Sizes:

2 LARGE SIZES (intended for M series iPads and iPad Pros):

*Warning…these canvases are big, high-res files and take up lots of space! The folder for the standard canvases is 1.2GB.  The folder for the large canvases is 4.8 GB.  I’ve included the small canvases in the download you receive with your purchase; there will be a separate Google Drive link in the included PDF if you choose to download the large ones! The standard sized ones should be more than adequate for most people, but if you have the time/internet connection and storage space to handle them…go for it!

The Retro Texture Canvases You’ll Get:

• Printer’s Rag: A desaturated, airy paper texture with soft cotton fuzz and barely-there weave patterns. • Merchant Ledger: A smooth, faded brown paper used for old invoices, ration books, or shipping logs. With its low-contrast grain and muted warmth, it feels like something you’d find in the back room of a 1940s dry goods store. Excellent as a base texture that adds analog warmth without too much clutter.

• Ghost Vellum: A cold, crinkled, semi-reflective paper stock with bright highlights and synthetic polish. Perfect for mimicking glossy poster backs, laminated ad sheets, or old retail packaging that has been unearthed from the depths of your local landfill.

• Archive Thread: A ridged, tan-toned paper with tightly woven tooth lines. Soft yet sturdy, this texture is reminiscent of filing rooms, textile tags, and university archives. It also pairs great with retro serif fonts, typewriter effects, or stamped lettering for a simple but bookish charm.
